Get the VIP treatment with Optim-R

Kingspan Insulation has published two brochures for its new Optim-R Roofing and Optim-R Flooring Systems, detailing how the next generation vacuum technology can be used to achieve the thinnest possible roof and floor build-ups.

With an aged design value thermal conductivity of just 0.007 W/m.K, Kingspan Optim-R Vacuum Insulation Panels (VIPs) are ideal for applications where space is at a premium. Kingspan Optim-R is available in a range of sizes and thicknesses to accommodate individual layouts and are accompanied with premium and high performance rigid thermoset insulation infill panels which can be cut to fit around problem areas such as penetrations.

The Kingspan Optim-R Roofing System is suitable for use within many flat and green roof build-ups and can also be installed as part of a specially developed tapered roofing scheme. By minimising the thickness of roof build-ups required to achieve the desired thermal performance the Optim-R Roofing System provides specifiers with a greater level of design freedom and it is also ideal for the retrofit of areas which are typically difficult to insulate, such as terraces or balconies.

The Kingspan Optim-R Flooring System is also extremely effective at saving space within both new-build and refurbishment applications. Installed beneath a layer of screed, Optim-R provides optimum levels of thermal performance up to five times better than other commonly used insulation materials. As a result, the System can help to avoid many of the costs associated with refurbishing floor build-ups including the digging out and removal of a far greater depth of earth or the raising of features such as radiators and door lintels.

Both Kingspan Optim-R Systems are supported with a comprehensive design and technical service, providing detailed plans of the layout, size and number of panels required for each installation.
