Premier Guarantee’s New Industry Renowned Building Standards

We are pleased to announce a brand new version of our building standards are now live – the Premier Guarantee Technical Manual Version 13.

It’s an exciting new format with new guidance and images, as well as containing familiar guidance brought over from the previous manual.

Version 13 of the Technical Manual has been assembled in a more logical format, consisting of ‘Building Parts’ sections (instead of the old chapter style) and providing more annotated diagrams to assist with the understanding of how to meet our structural warranty requirements.

Each ‘Building Part’ section allows you to find all the relevant guidance in one area rather than in several chapters. For example: Within ‘External walls’, you can choose which type of wall construction is relevant to your project and then be provided with the appropriate guidance from the top of the foundations up to roof connections.

We have also moved all the common Functional Requirements that apply across ‘all sections’ – they are now located in one section at the front of the manual to avoid any repetition. The exception to this is when we have specific ‘additional’ Functional Requirements that are only relevant to a particular build part section, e.g. Foundations, where there is a ‘Workmanship’ Functional Requirement which states:

“Foundations should be of a suitable depth in order to achieve a satisfactory level of performance.”

The main changes compared to our Technical Manual Version 12 can be found at the start of the Manual after the introduction. The contents page that follows shows the new format in more detail and enables you to navigate to whichever section you need quickly and easily.

The new Technical Manual is still a substantial document, however we pride ourselves on offering flexible solutions, with the new version of the Technical Manual providing more guidance than before, while allowing other forms of construction to be considered – providing of course that early discussion with our surveyors is undertaken.

All of our Technical Manuals are available to download here.

We also have a number of technical eBooks available to download here.
