Construction work is under way on a 60-home development in Four Marks that will include 24 affordable properties and a children’s play
area.
Bellway is building homes ranging from one to four-bedroom properties on the seven-acre site off Lymington Bottom in the Hampshire village.
The housebuilder gained approval for the development – called Mount Royal Gardens – from East Hampshire District Council in October last year.

The mix of private and affordable homes along with the varied range of house sizes and styles means there are many options for people on different budgets and with different requirements.”
The public green space will include a central play area with a range of equipment designed for children aged from around four to eight years old, as well as a footpath and cycle route. Existing trees on site will be retained where possible and significant new tree planting will take place.
All the properties will have energy efficient gas boilers, solar panels and electric vehicle charging points included. The development is designed to ensure that around a quarter of the energy demand will be met by renewable energy from the solar panels.
As part of the planning agreement for the development, Bellway has committed to providing 40 per cent of the homes as affordable housing –comprising 17 for affordable rent and seven shared ownership properties.
Bellway is set to release the first homes at Mount Royal Gardens onto the market this summer, with the first properties due to be completed by the winter.
