Newett Homes Strengthens Senior Leadership Team with new Appointments

Yorkshire based housebuilder, Newett Homes, has announced three new senior appointments to its leadership team, as it continues to focus on accelerated growth and scaling-up operations across the business.

The appointments of a new Regional Technical Director, Head of Planning, Head of Health, Safety and Environment reflect the long-term growth strategy of the business, commitment to operational excellence, and continued investment in building an industry-leading team.

Jamie Moran is welcomed to the Newett team as Regional Technical Director with 27 years’ experience in housebuilding, having progressed from trainee architectural technician to leading technical teams across both regional builders and major volume developers – covering open market and partnership delivery.

Jamie adds:
“I am relishing this new challenge and I am really excited to be on board. Newett Homes is a great place to work, with wonderful people and an amazing office environment. I look forward to being part of this next phase of growth and seeing Newett Homes go from strength to strength with the help of a great team and colleagues from the wider business.”

Alastair Curran has joined Newett Homes as Head of Planning, bringing extensive planning and development experience having worked in numerous senior roles across consulting and development – in both public and private sectors, for many years. Alastair will oversee Newett’s planning operations and land promotion strategies, whilst providing senior leadership guidance as the firm expands its pre-development operations in line with the growth strategy.
Reflecting on his appointment, Alistair said:
“I am thrilled to have joined Newett Homes at such an exciting time, to play an integral role as we deliver our ambitious growth plans. Newett Homes has a standout reputation for quality, ambition, and delivering thoughtfully designed developments, and I’m looking forward to contributing to that momentum whilst working alongside a great team that takes genuine pride in the homes we deliver.”

Alongside Alistair, Ian Makinson has been appointed as Head of Health, Safety and Environment at Newett Homes. With more than 20 years’ health and safety experience in housebuilding, along with 15 years’ construction leadership in the Royal Engineers, Ian will lead strategic oversight, policy development, risk management and a blend of high‑level planning.
Ian adds:
“I’m delighted to be joining the Newett team and bring with me strong leadership, a wealth of health and safety knowledge and a real passion to succeed and deliver the ambitious business requirements planned for 2026 and beyond. I’m most looking forward to supporting Newett in establishing a robust in‑house health and safety management system and improving on the brilliant safety culture already in place.”

Investing in the right people to enhance service and delivery, are all a part of Newett Home’s plan towards building 250–300 homes per year across 12–14 sites in the region.
Will Newett, Founder of Newett Homes, comments:
“Our ambition is to become the premier housebuilder in Yorkshire. To do this, we must continue investing in talented people who share our values and our drive to build exceptional homes. Each of these appointments plays a crucial role in shaping the next stage of our journey and we are excited to see what’s ahead.”

Collectively, these hires reinforce Newett Homes’ long‑term plan to deliver a market‑leading product and experience, maintain a customer‑centric culture, and grow sustainably by investing in people, systems and governance so the company can continue to scale in Yorkshire while preserving the same quality and service Newett Homes is known for.
