Designer Contracts, the UK’s largest flooring contractor, has announced a raft of new appointments, promotions and returners in its latest ‘Who’s Who’ company listings.
Stepping down after heading up the Scotland operation for more than a decade as regional director is Kenny Collins who retired at the end of May after 20 years with the company. Said Kenny: “It’s been an absolute pleasure and I’m sure the business as a whole – and Scotland in particular – will continue to go from strength to strength.”
Kenny is replaced by Dougie Craig who has worked with Designer Contracts for 10 years. “I’m looking forward to a whole new challenge,” said Dougie who joined the company in 2016 as a customer service manager, became a senior contract manager later that year and now takes up the role of area manager.
Elsewhere in the company, three new appointments, two further promotions and two ‘welcome backs’ have been announced.
Yvonne Scales joins the North West branch as a sales manager having previously spent 11 years with Redrow. Prior to that and starting a family Yvonne worked as cabin crew with British Airways and British Mediterranean Airways.
In the Central region Jon Hall takes on the role of area manager, joining the company after more than 21 years as a store manager for Topps Tiles, running multiple stores across several locations.
Over in the South Midlands, Mike Richardson has been appointed as the new area manager. Mike joins Designer Contracts after a career working across manufacturing, logistics and print environments with a strong focus on improving performance and helping businesses grow.
Further strengthening the South Midlands team is Robbie Budworth who has been promoted to the role of sales consultant. Robbie joined the company a year ago as a sales advisor.
Also enjoying a step up the ladder is David Kier who becomes senior contracts manager with the Scotland branch. David, who joined the company earlier this year, began his career in retail and worked his way up from the shop floor to operations manager. He said:
“It gave me a real understanding of how a business works at every level and the importance of putting customers and people first.”
Designer Contracts is also delighted to welcome back two past employees who have rejoined the company. Luke Monteith returns as sales manager at the Thames Medway office while over at the Wales and West branch, Antony Partridge comes back as area manager.
Said Designer Contracts md Peter Kelsey:
“It’s always a huge pleasure to announce new appointments and promotions and we’re particularly delighted this summer to also welcome back onto the team, two familiar faces.
“Despite the current challenges around pricing volatility, Designer Contracts continues to go from strength to strength – and it’s the dedication and enthusiasm of the people who work with us that lies at the heart of our growth and success.”
Designer Contracts operates nationally through its network of regional offices. As well as flooring, the company provides blinds and curtains plus furniture and lighting packs.
