GARADOR HELPS RECORD CHARITY EVENT

Leading British garage door manufacturer Garador has once again played a pivotal role in the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance’s Coast to Coast Cycle Challenge.

Money is still coming in for the charity event which involved hundreds of cyclists undertaking a gruelling 55 mile ride across Somerset and Dorset, but this week it has been confirmed donations of over £45,000 have already been received.

“This is a wonderful amount to help a vital local charity,” said Garador’s Managing Director Jon Watson. “We help every year by providing large capacity lorries to transport the cyclists and their bikes back to their starting point after the race, but this year saw more entries than ever before, and more donations too. The event can most certainly be called a wonderful success.”

The route started from Watchet in North Somerset and finished in West Bay on the Dorset Coast. Garador’s fleet of modern vehicles are equipped with special access systems so that for the event the bikes could easily be wheeled into the lorries and firmly secured for the journey. Garador drivers gave their time for free and helped to ensure all the participants could easily get back to Watchet and find their cars after the ride.

Emma Jones, Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance Fundraising Manager, praised the efforts of the cyclists and also everyone who helped.

“Raising over £45,000 is simply incredible and we give a huge thank you to everyone who assisted,” she said.
