Gleeson Homes, the affordable high-quality housebuilder, is delighted to announce the appointment of Matthew Swallow as Commercial Director for its North West region, covering Greater Manchester, Merseyside and Cumbria.
Matthew brings more than 20 years of experience in the housebuilding industry, having worked extensively across Cumbria and the wider North West. He joins Gleeson from Story Homes, where he held the role of Commercial Director for eight years.
Matthew began his career at Persimmon as a Quantity Surveyor before joining Story Homes, where he progressed rapidly through the business from Commercial Manager to Commercial Director. His strong track record and deep regional knowledge position him well to support Gleeson’s continued growth across the North West.
In his new role, Matthew will lead the region’s commercial function, focusing on embedding best practice, driving operational efficiencies and maximising value. He will also play a key role in strengthening relationships with suppliers and subcontractors across all stages of the development lifecycle.
Gleeson currently has eight active developments across the North West, with a further six sites in the pipeline for the next financial year. Matthew’s appointment comes at a pivotal time for the business, as it looks to expand into new locations and deliver larger, higher-volume sites.
