Housebuilder to invest £27 million and deliver 147 new homes in Wintringham

Top 10 UK housebuilder, Keepmoat, has revealed its plans to create 147 new homes in St Neots, Huntingdonshire, as part of a wider scheme set to deliver 2,800 new homes.

Located off Nuffield Road, the new homes represent an investment of more than £27 million from the housebuilder and will see a range of multi-tenure, eco-friendly homes created.

Working in collaboration with Urban & Civic, Keepmoat will build 147 high-quality new homes at the start of Wintringham’s second phase of delivery. The development will feature a mix of one, two, three and four bedroom homes.

Of the new homes, 19 have been designated for affordable housing and will be delivered via a local housing association.

Victor Idowu, Regional Managing Director at Keepmoat, South Midlands, said:

“We’re delighted to be working in partnership with Urban&Civic and Huntingdonshire District Council to continue the investment and quality of place coming forward in this exciting new part of St Neots.

“This scheme represents a major investment in the area and at Keepmoat, we’re committed to making a positive and lasting contribution to the areas in which we build. Throughout the scheme, our partnership-led approach allows us to work closely with the council and local partners to create a thriving, well-connected community.”

Subject to planning consent from Huntingdonshire District Council, work will start in the summer, with the first new homes available before the end of the year.

Paul Murfin, Communities and Partnerships Manager for Wintringham master developer Urban&Civic, said:

“We’re delighted to welcome Keepmoat and extend the house types and tenures available for new residents looking to join Wintringham’s welcoming and growing community. Nestled in nature-rich landscaped spaces with some great facilities and amenities on the doorstep, the bustling market town of St Neots and the city of Cambridge are in easy reach, and nearby rail station for connections to London, Wintringham is a great place to live.”

Clara Kerr, Head of Planning, Infrastructure & Public Protection (Chief Planning Officer) – Huntingdonshire District Council, added:

“We have worked positively and proactively with Keepmoat and Urban&Civic throughout the pre-application process to help shape a scheme that responds to the established design principles at Wintringham.

“Through this collaborative approach, we have sought to ensure the delivery of a well-designed, sustainable development that reflects the high-quality design ethos of Wintringham and makes a strong contribution to the wider community in St Neots.”
