Housebuilders are moving to 150mm cavities – should you?

Today’s new homes must meet a growing list of complex requirements, from thermal and fire safety performance, to reduced environmental impact.

As standards rise, using 100mm wall cavities will limit your options, but 150mm allows for flexibility. In fact, a survey of housebuilders suggests 150mm cavities are becoming the norm for new homes, with 41% of participants already having made the switch and just over a quarter considering it.*

Wider cavities allow you to achieve the performance you need with products like DriTherm® Cavity Slab 32, which is:
  • Easier to install correctly, reducing the likelihood of air gaps and allowing real-world thermal performance that lives up to your design.
  • Non-combustible, with a Euroclass A1 reaction to fire classification, providing greater peace-of-mind.
  • Glass mineral wool, which has the lowest levels of embodied carbon of any mainstream insulation material in the UK, helping you to build lower carbon homes.

Don’t be constrained by 100mm cavities. Stay flexible with 150mm of DriTherm® Cavity Slab 32.
