Local housebuilder Barratt Homes has launched the final phase of homes at its Kingsbrook development in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire. The launch of Canal Quarter coincides with a major milestone for the development, which this year marks
a decade since its launch.
Comprising 85 two-, three- and four-bedroom homes, Canal Quarter represents the final opportunity for buyers to purchase a brand-new home at Barratt Homes’ flagship Kingsbrook community. Set at the heart of the development, the new neighbourhood is a short stroll from the vibrant Canal Basin, which includes local conveniences such as a shop, bakers and a café, alongside a travel hub with regular buses connecting to Aylesbury town centre and the train station.
The new homes are also ideally placed for those who enjoy the outdoors, with Kingsbrook located close to the Grand Union Canal and surrounded by acres of green space. First residents at Canal Quarter are expected to move in as early as June 2026, with final completions anticipated by 2028.
Delivered in partnership with the RSPB and Buckinghamshire Council, Kingsbrook is an award-winning, nature-first community that has received national recognition for its biodiversity-led approach to placemaking. Once complete, Kingsbrook will deliver 2,450 homes (20% of which will be affordable) alongside 500 acres of public green space, including a 250-acre nature reserve and visitor centre known as Kingsbrook Meadows.
Designed with families in mind, Kingsbrook already offers a wide range of amenities, including a primary school – with a second opening this September – alongside a secondary school and two independent nurseries. Local services and shops include Kingsbrook Dental, the Kingsbrook Community Hub, Tesco, Wenzel’s bakery and Esquires café. This spring, further green spaces will be unveiled, including new play parks, a multi-use games area and an amphitheatre, as well as additional footpaths connecting residents to the canal and beyond.
Marc Woolfe, Sales and Marketing Director at Barratt North Thames, comments:
“This year marks a special milestone at Kingsbrook, as we celebrate a decade since the first foundations were laid for our new community in Aylesbury. It feels fitting to come full circle and unveil our final phase of homes.
“Canal Quarter is the last opportunity for buyers to purchase a brand new home within a truly one-of-a-kind development. We’re incredibly proud of what Kingsbrook has become and expect this final release to be as popular as ever, as buyers look to move into a ready-made community right at the heart of the development.”
Three and four-bedroom homes are currently available at Canal Quarter from £390,000 (prices subject to availability). To find out more about Kingsbrook or Barratt Homes, visit www.barratthomes.co.uk or call 0333 355 8500.
