Luxury developer Consero secures planning approval for revised proposals at exclusive Virginia Water development

Consero, a luxury developer of Surrey’s super-prime homes, has secured planning permission for revised proposals at its highly anticipated gated development on Stroude Road in Virginia Water.

The approval includes a complete redesign of the three substantial detached homes, including changes to the elevations and remodelled internal layouts. The new design introduces an elegant, modern Tudor aesthetic with gables and striking timber detailing to the façades. The new symmetrical double-fronted design also features larger feature windows to maximise natural light inside.

The revised plans also include refinements to the seven mews-style properties arranged around a landscaped courtyard. The new plans benefit from increased internal square footage, enlarged gardens, the introduction of stone entrance porches to each home, and internal reconfiguration to better suit modern, day-to-day living.

The total number of 10 homes remains unchanged, preserving the exclusivity of the development.

Jason Lawrence, Managing Director at Consero, said:

“We are pleased to secure planning permission for our revised proposals at our Virginia Water site. From the outset, our ambition has been to create a private enclave of just 10 homes that reflects the very best of Consero’s design-led approach and commitment to green technology. These refinements allow us to elevate the architecture and positioning of the homes, increase the footprint with more family-focused layouts, while remaining sensitive to both the landscape and the character of the area.”

Section 106 contributions have been agreed to include over £161,000 towards affordable housing and nearly £80,000 for local education initiatives.

Consero acquired the prestigious 38-acre site in May 2025 and subsequently appointed Ascot Design as architects for the scheme. Set within expansive grounds overlooking meadows and ancient woodland, the gated community will offer a rare balance of privacy and connection, with shared gated access to the development alongside individual gated entrances for each of the detached homes.

Located within walking distance of Virginia Water village and moments from Wentworth Club and Windsor Great Park, the development benefits from excellent transport links to London Waterloo, outstanding schools, and access to some of Surrey’s finest countryside. Further details on the homes will be released as the project progresses.

Established in 2004, Consero is a master in designing homes with timeless architecture, discretion and impeccable detail. The housebuilder is behind some of the UK’s finest residences in prestigious addresses, including the Wentworth Estate and St George’s Hill, and is now bringing its bespoke quality to a wider audience through carefully selected developments in prime locations.

Construction at Virginia Water will commence early this year following clearance works. For further information, visit: https://consero.uk/.
