Jordan Harris, 35, who is from Yorkshire, took up the role at the start of February.
Based at Bellway North East’s head office in Gateshead, Jordan is part of the divisional board overseeing the delivery of new homes in Newcastle, Tyne and Wear, Northumberland and County Durham.
He said: “I’ve always had a passion for housing in the sense of wanting to create a community and that excites me. It goes from a piece of land to a community with someone pushing a pram along the street. A lot of hours go into it and it’s rewarding to know that we have played a strong part in it. You can drive past in 10 years’ time and say, ‘I was involved in that’.”
Jordan began his career by studying for a National Diploma in Construction straight from school and going on to complete a degree in Quantity Surveying and Commercial Management at the University of Bolton, graduating in 2012.
The role encompasses budgeting, strategising and procurement at almost every stage of the creation of a new development from land acquisition to the final stages on site.
