Redrow secures planning consent for 184 new homes on the Hoo Peninsula

Last week, Medway Council granted planning consent to housebuilder Redrow for 184 new homes on the Hoo Peninsula in Medway.

The 28-acre site is located to the west of Cliffe Woods and will be transformed into Oakleigh Fields, containing 138 homes for private sale. Meanwhile, the remaining homes will be affordable, available through shared ownership or affordable rent.

The homes for private sale at Oakleigh Fields will range in size from two- to five-bedrooms in Redrow’s award-winning Heritage Collection style. Exteriors are inspired by the Arts & Crafts architectural movement of the 1930s and the local Kent vernacular, while interiors blend modern, open plan living with separate spaces to relax and spacious bedrooms.

A third of the site will be formal and informal green open spaces, with the homes benefiting from a rural location surrounded by orchards and farmland.

David Banfield, Planning Director at Redrow South East, commented: “We’re excited to be delivering our first community in the distinctive and charming Hoo Peninsula. We expect the homes to be hugely popular in light of Cliffe Wood’s rural and picturesque surroundings, paired with its easy access to the nearby Medway towns. We look forward to commencing works on-site and launching the homes for sale in due course.”
