Housebuilder Honey has started work on 133 new homes in Rainworth, near Mansfield, after being granted planning permission for a £40m development.
Called Melisse and located off Nightjar Way, the development will provide a mix of two-, three-, four- and five-bed homes.
Melisse will feature 17 of Honey’s house type designs, with prices at the development starting from £244,996 for a two-bedroom semi-detached Avocado house type.
Sheffield-headquartered Honey says its house types have all been specifically designed to combine “style, substance and sustainability” for the benefit of buyers.
The development has been allocated within the Newark & Sherwood District Council’s existing local plan to deliver new homes across the region.
The first homes at the development are expected to be released for sale in late autumn and Honey anticipates that the first residents will move into their new homes in late spring next year.
Since its launch in October 2022, Honey has secured 32 immediate sites throughout the Midlands and Yorkshire that will deliver 4,842 homes with a combined gross development value of £1.4bn.
The housebuilder is backed by private equity firm Alchemy Partners and its Alchemy Special Opportunities Fund IV, which has £937m of fully committed capital.

Honey has analysed consumer insights and trends to inform its house type designs to ensure they meet the needs and wants of today’s new home buyers, including the flexible use of all living spaces.
Standard features in every Honey home include bi-fold doors; individually designed fully integrated kitchens; and boutique-style bathrooms with a signature freestanding bath and full-height tiling. All properties have an electric vehicle charging point.
